SHED LIGHT ON THE PROBLEMS:

African American unemployment rates are typically double that of Caucasian Americans.

African-American men working full-time earn only 72% of the average earnings of comparable Caucasian men and 85% of the earnings of Caucasian women.

Luther and Roxanne Sewell have committed themselves to the task of educating and empowering the underserved minority communities throughout Pennsylvania. For over fifty years their publication, Talk Magazine, and non-profit civic engagement initiative TMAG, have served as an influential voice to promote civic and political engagement across the state; from Pittsburgh to Philadelphia and to the smallest minority pockets in the state. As a participant in many of the informative workshops they have sponsored, and as a past recipient of Talk Magazine’s “BLACK HISTORY MONTH MERIT AWARD”, I am honored to consider Luther and Roxanne Sewell great role models, but just as importantly great friends.

We aim to speak out against hardship and racism and promote the positive people and contributions made in Pennsylvania and across the country from people of color.
